Active Wellness Program at St. Alban’s

The Active Wellness Program at St. Alban’s Church is a daily, in-person wellness program designed to bring older adults together around exercise, classes and workshops, and a daily healthy lunch. Come make new friends, try new activities, and spend a half day with us!

Over the years, the Active Wellness Program at St. Alban's has become a classroom for lifelong learning, a refuge for meditation and exercise, a parlor for engaging conversation and discussions, and a place for dear friendships to grow. We offer diverse activities including:

  • Morning coffee and conversation
  • Nutritious daily lunch
  • Twice-monthly fresh produce market
  • Group nutrition education programs
  • Exercise classes (yoga, dance, meditation and movement, strength/balance/core, cardio kickboxing)
  • Onsite resource specialist to connect participants to Iona programs and other services
  • Creative and performing arts (improve comedy, studio art, art and movement)
  • Field trips
  • Musical concerts
  • Games
  • and more!

Program details

The Active Wellness Program offers an in-person program Monday through Friday at St. Alban’s Church.

Are you a resident of Washington, DC aged 60 or older? Come join us at St. Alban’s! Programming is offered Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at St. Alban's Church on the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral.

Pre-registration is not required for this program. We welcome walk-ins; however, you must enroll in the program when you arrive. You will need to fill out registration forms and provide identification.

A lunch may not be available for you on your first day as our lunches are reserved a week in advance. We will try our best to provide a meal for you. We can’t wait to meet you!

Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Lunch is served at noon. Because we order our lunches a week in advance, we cannot guarantee a meal on your first day.

Follows DC Public Schools schedule/alerts for weather closures.

St. Alban’s is adjacent to the National Cathedral, at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue NW and Wisconsin Avenue NW. The N2, N4, N6, 33, 31, 30S, 30N, and 37 bus routes all stop outside St. Alban’s.
