Around Town DC
Are you a Washington, DC resident aged 60 or older looking for programs and activities you can enjoy with others your age?
Welcome to Around Town DC!
Our events calendar makes it easier than ever to try a fitness or art class, check out a local lecture or concert, volunteer in the community, and make new friends.
Around Town DC is an opportunity for older adults to come together to enjoy classes, activities, and special events year round. We offer in-person and virtual events on a wide variety of topics, including the following:
- Fitness classes (Zumba, tai chi, dance, and several types of yoga)
- Creative and performing arts (studio drawing, improv comedy, educational workshops, and discussions)
- Informational workshops hosted by local partners, agencies, and organizations (technology tricks, voting rights, Medicaid/Medicare, end-of-life planning)
- Cooking classes
- Musical concerts
- Book and discussion groups
- Walking tours and outdoor events
- Lunch groups and language exchanges
- and much more!
Around Town DC makes it easy to learn something new, trade ideas, or meet people—whether you prefer to do so in person or from the comfort of your own home. Many of our classes and activities are ongoing and held every week, while others are one-time opportunities.
