When an older adult has increased memory loss and other symptoms of Alzheimer’s or other types of dementia, it can be challenging for them and their family members.

This session will provide tips for how to effectively support the person with these issues, as well as for how family members can take care of themselves.

Iona and Brighton Gardens of Friendship Heights are partnering to provide a forum for adult children and other caregivers to understand the challenges of aging, particularly memory loss, and how best to support aging parents and other relatives while practicing good self-care. Join us for one or all of the sessions, led by members of Iona’s Consultation, Care Management, and Counseling team. Other sessions in this series include Stay or Move: How to Find and Pay for the Best Living Arrangement and Helping a Family Member Who Doesn’t Want Your Help.
