Iona’s Caregiver U is a series of education sessions designed to inform and educate caregivers. If you are currently caring for an older relative or just want to get information to help you be prepared for the changes aging can bring, please join us for a series of seminars on topics ranging from health and wellness to financial planning. Each session is led by qualified professionals who will be able to give practical and knowledgeable advice about caregiving. The series takes place the first Wednesday of every month. For more information, please call 202-895-9448.
Iona’s Artist in Residence program works in tandem with The Gallery at Iona to showcase the work of talented local senior artists. A new Artist in Residence is chosen every four months and their work is displayed in the gallery. Along with hanging their art in the gallery, Iona also sponsors programs featuring the artist, like the brown bag lunch and learn, that are free and open to the public.
This season, Iona is happy to present the artwork of Melanie Grishman, our Artist-in-Residence and Chuck Baxter, our Special Guest Artist. Iona's Poet in Residence, Anne Becker will be writing poetry inspired by the artwork. The Art will be on display through August 23, 2010.
